Black History Month Show

Left to Right: Elonzo, Hadia, Kalonji

Monday February 27

was Woodrow Wilson's Annual Black History Month Show

and this year did not disappoint!

Join me in reminiscing on a job well done by the students, teachers, and organizers.

The show started with Hadia and Operations Manager/Show Producer Mr. Coplin introducing the show, getting the audience excited and introducing the teacher's choir who sang "Life Every Voice".

Left to Right: Ms. Hendricks, ________, Ms. Pellot, Ms. Pruitt, Ms. Wiggins, Dr. Lyle-Smith, Ms. Rathsgaber, and Mr. Boettcher

Then, the first of many show stoppers, Destiny performed Alicia Keys "We Are Here" see her performance for yourself here:

The next act was Dr. Lyle-Smith and the Wilson Band who came from the back of the auditorium and keep the crowd cheering, unfortunately the low light prevented good photos or videos.

Following the Wilson Band was an original song by Hadia.  She performed beside Elonzo and Kalonji, their lively performance can be seen right here:

After an outstanding original, a Wilson Alumni  came on to perform "Glory" by John Legend and what an amazing performance!

Then the Tigerettes (Ranaye, Jahnaija, Briana) performed accompanied by the band.

Next, Kalonji took us from musical to theatrical with his solo act from the play "A Raisin in the Sun"
Kalonji performing a scene from "A Raisin in the Sun"

Ja'Naya and Jalia graced us with a beautiful interpretive dance

Finally, a Throwback performance to the early days of HipHop by Trinity, Elonzo, Asia, and Justin
